LOL...................yup I have finally succumbed to the latest trend of birds animals!
So I went ahead & bought Michael Miller fabrics with owls,hedgedogs,lovebirds :)

And those yum Japanese Kawaii Kokka fabrics with more owls,deers & frogs:)

The Japanese Kokka fabric is so good,I went in for more ..........owls,deers & a pretty Lil Red Riding Hood!

And these kokka apples are just sooooo tempting,so I HAD to buy them!

And how groovy is this fabric with measuring tape on it.................my head is crammed with ideas of what I am going to create with it!

And some skull fabric too:))......................I have also already started planning for 4th of July collection!

 So I am going to be a busy girl now churning out goodies from these & I also have promised a guest post on Honeybearlane.
Boy! ....................sometimes I do take on more than I can handle!

I have something new & fun coming up!......I am getting these gorgeous linen swatches with fun things printed on it,& I am going to turn them into totally cool totes!

Oh but I did finish a darling wrap around for Lil miss S................she is in school now,but I will surely click a pic when she is back & maybe post a tut too to make it:)

I finally found some suppliers locally who offer pure cow leather:)
I was trying to find vendors online,but wasn't too keen on ordering leather without having a feel of the grain & texture !!!!!
This is such a godsend:).........I had decided to buy a few colors,but ended up buying around 30 shades!!!!
Yes...........it did cost me a bomb,but I just couldn't resist them.Pile over pile of lovely colors,it was toooo hard to resist,so I didn't:)

 I haven't added the pics of regular browns,black,tan,maroons........didn't have patience to sit & make such a big collage:)
Most of these are pure cow leather with a few calf leather in between...................my mind is absolutely churning with ideas & design I am going to create! 
In the pile I found this wow batik tie & dyed leather,the colors combined with pure leather gives it such an amazing look..........can't wait to get started on this:)

Some of them have crocodile skin pattern & few with snake skin pattern too.........
I am also planning to open up another shop exclusively for the leather purses.............what do you think???????
Is it a good idea or I should just go ahead & list them along with my regular purses?

Lovely new bag fabrics:)

Encouraged by my first sale yesterday I went today morning to the market foraging for new fabric for purses:)
Fortunately in India there is no derth of good quality raw material.................so yes..........I bought a few goodies:)

I have been dabbling in faux leather till now,but now I have taken the plunge in the world of pure leather:) Got this lovely shade of rustish red textured leather..............its soooo wow!

 Ordered another leather in yum plum:).............will pick it up tomorrow morning.
I had kept my eye on an amazing jute fabric,but I never bought it for the simple reason that my 35 year old machine would have got massacred sewing layers of such thick fabric .............but now that I possess my shiny new industrial machine I decided to go ahead with  it!
Here it is...............see the detailed weave..............its simply gorgeous!

Can't wait to start on this one:)
How can I go to the market & not fall for a printed fabric................I don't understand this undying love of mine for anything floral & printed!............So this is what I got

Also finished another purse yesterday night.The shape has a story behind it;)

I had decided on a rectangular shape & was cutting this while watching"Criminal Minds".................was so engrossed watching the depravity of human mind that I accidently snipped off the bottom edge & hence this shape:)))).....................But I like the way it finally turned out:)..................My photography skills just refuse to capture the true beauty of my purses:(..................well I can not be good at everything,now,can I;)

I decided to line this in a pretty striped fabric & here it is.

  

I am planning to add a shopping cart & paypal here,so my customers can buy anything they like from here directly instead of going to a third party site & worry about the registration & other formalities:)

The advantage for my customers is that whatever I will save as selling fees on etsy,I will pass on to my customers,so basically my bags & purses will be a few dollars cheaper here compared to on etsy & artfire:)

Isn't this a good idea:)....................But it will take a wee bit of time,I am swamped with work right now!

Now I am off to make red leather clutch which I have cut yesterday night:)

DIY purse kit

I am currently working on putting together a DIY kit to make my Pleated Wooden Handles Clutch.
I will be offering it in five colors to begin with in faux leather................deep red,camel brown,cream,black & gray.
These are the things I am planning to include.
Hard copies of pattern (made in card stock) along with pleat & dart marks for permanent use.
Detailed instructions along with pics on how to make it.
Two pieces in faux leather for front & back
Four pieces in faux leather to make the straps to hold the wooden bars
Two iron on interfacing (cut as per the size) for lining
Magnetic Snap
Rivets (needed are 4,but I will supply 8)
Wooden bars
Zip Lock Pouch to keep the WIP safe

 This will give you not just a new "I made it"clutch to flaunt but the knowledge to make more anytime for yourself or to gift!
The hard copy is always so much more effective than a printed pdf pattern!!

On our last in Delhi I decided to go to Sadar Bazaar.Sadar Bazaar is one of largest wholesale markets of household items in the capital.Earlier, Sadar Bazaar was a small market mainly catering to the needs of the people of the nearby area but gradually it became one of the known markets of capital for cheap and quality products . At present, the market deals in lotsa items other than household ones especially bag making supplies:).
 The market can be aptly described as a total chaos but to experience and view the other side or aspect of Delhi, a visit to the bazaar is definitely required but don't say I didn't warn you about the chaos:)
 Due to shortage of time I  went straight to the area  where bag manufactures are located.
I was amazed to see soooooooo many shop selling purse & bags in wholesale.For a moment I thought I was in China;)
I bought these amazing fabrics for purses,actually they are more of rexin,rubber kind,not really sure about the material,but they are really sturdy ,durable & good looking:)
This one is my absolute fave...........the dalmatian print really stand out.it also has lot of texture which I unfortunately didn't click properly:(
