More Sarees:)

hiya...........I told you all that the sarees are a WIP,right!
well................here are the rest of them:)
I had no time for a fancy photo shoot so I just landed at a close friend's place without any warning & basically arm twisted her till she gave in to modelling the sarees for me on her terrace........LOL:)

What do you think eh!

Who likes Sarees!

I DOOO!!!
I am sure most Indian women & many non- Indians too just lurvee sarees:)
dabbling into sarees was a natural progressions of events for me after bags,accessories & jewellery!

so without much ado............here I present a part of my first collection of sarees............yes its a part..........am still working on the rest:)

this orange gorgeousness is made in pure chiffon in sunset orange with thin golden border & a riot of colorful  "Raja ravi verma portrait" print on the pallu made of crepe..............one of my personal fav's:)

another colorful saree in indigo blue handloom chanderi with pleats in red banarasi net with yellow & golden border all over & a pretty latkan dangling from one end.

by now you must have realized I am BIIG on colors,dull grays & blues are not for me:).......this one is a half & half saree in chanderi  handloom in green,banarasi net pallu in yellow with bright pink & green accent

another half and half saree in beige satin chiffon skirt & a red chiffon pallu with a very modern japanese print finished with black & golden accents.

this super gorgeous saree is made in banarsi net in shades of red & orange which changes colors as light plays on it with golden buttis,it is finished with a thick floral border making it truly elegant:)

a half and half saree in lavender satin chiffon skirt & a black & white polka dot chiffon pallu with a pretty pearl & velvet border.

half & half saree with red banarsi net skirt & printed floral pallu in semi chiffon.The colorful border & the awesome tassle at one end adds to the beauty of the saree!

a lovely saree made entirely in handloom chanderi. It starts with a red skirt,the pleats are a geometric design in yellow with a gorgeous beige & golden pallu...........the entire saree has a red green floral border in handloom chanderi too!

a colorful saree - starts with green raw silk,the pleats are in georgette green & beige with golden buttis,the pallu is in magenta raw silk finished with golden & magenta accent.

as they say best is reserved for the last:)............this one in pure handloom chanderi is just what you need for summers:).........in white with thick pastel pink pallu & a chevron border its extremely elegant!

As the topic says it all,this post is about MOI..........& MOI only:)
well,I wanted to show you my new designs:)
but before that did I tell you I got my company registered?
Yup I am the CEO,manager,designer,photographer,copier,mail woman,peon of my company (............happy to be all in one:))
so yes,CONGRATULATIONS are in order;)
I am still reeling under the mountain of paperwork,formalities & ofcourse the empty bank account,but this is a step forward,first step towards making something big,something better,something I built from scratch !

so now I am going to bombard you with some pics,feel free to click out,I am just showing off the new jewellery making skills I have picked up alongwith  photography skills;)

New Beginnings!

This week I have started off with some new ventures & intend to have fun with the new beginnings!
First of all I decided to have a separate brand for my jewelery business.....................it just didn't go well with "Arm Candy For You" as I am not making any bracelets yet!

So drum-rolls please as I introduce you to my brand new jewelery business~ Champa Qali

My line of jewelery will be available on Craftsvilla soon.....ish.................like within this week!

Made these fun pieces in crystal yesterday & I call them Angoori which literally means Grapes:)

I am also scheduled to have my online shop on another venue but its too soon to let the cat out of the bag on the details of the site;)
Am in talks to retail my stuff in a store too............if all goes well,this will be the first time I sell my stuff in an actual B&M store! Exciiiiting:)

Hmm.........what next.............ah yes!
I am developing a new fun line of totes made in organic linen/burlap with some fun prints on it.................things like this

Oh boy..............am I excited!............you bet!

Happy 8th Birthday Son:)

My Sonnie boy turned 8 this 3rd September!.............he is already showing the signs of nearing teenage,sigh!!
Why/how do kids grow up so fast!
I don't want to dwell on the sentiments of a child growing up & eventually away,I am just going to share what we did for his birthday!

This is just before he left for school on the 3rd,though we had his party  the next day!

For the decor,I made tons of buntings from colorful crepe paper & criss-crossed them across the small lil lawn sprinkled with balloons & a HAPPY BIRTHDAY banner:)

I plucked a bunch of flowers & stuck them in a jug for additional color:)

Cupcake toppers are a novel concept in India,so the kids were super amused by them,they picked up the toppers & left the cup cakes alone in the second serving .......LOL:).................I printed out the free toppers printable from here- Best Gift Idea

Made a ruffle sorta cake inspired from here.............it's not an exact copy but yes the inspiration was that ruffled cake!

I made triangles out of handmade paper,wrote my son's name on it , hot glued it to a scrap of white wool ,tied it to chopsticks & my banner was ready...............Tada :)
